UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE OF STATE PARTIES TO THE UN CRPD

In their capacity as principals of Tangata Group (www.tangatagroup.org), Michael Schwartz and Brent Elder attended the United Nations Conference of State Parties to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in New York City from June 10 to 12. Tangata Group enjoys a consultative status with the UN, and the conference was an opportunity to mingle with delegates from around the world. As Elder puts it, the conference is a “power space” where people share ideas and narratives related to disability.
