Establishing a disability law clinic in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Tashkent State University of Law is interested in establishing a disability law clinic in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Mirjahon Turdiev, a Ph.D. student at Syracuse University's world-renowned Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and I are collaborating to set up this kind of law clinic. The timing is particularly good: just last week the Uzbek Senate approved a domestic disability rights law. Mirjahon and my goal is to establish a relationship between Tashkent State University of Law and Syracuse University College of Law, with the ultimate goal of setting up a law clinic to utilize the new disability rights law in advocating for Uzbek citizens with disabilities.
